FRIDAY 22 JUNE 07-- MORE MODERATE BAY WINDS
Steve joined us again for an early afternoon sail and we left port about 1:15 pm, pulled up a double reefed main and headed out into the central bay, heading for the bay bridge and pulled out the full jib.

Winds were moderate as we headed eastward toward the D-E span of the Bay Bridge.

The financial district was enjoying brilliant sunshine.

A small sailboat with a wrinkled jib was heading north along the shore of Yerba Buena.

We sailed through the D-E span of the Bay Bridge, hoping to head around YBI and up the east shore of Treasure Island.

The breeze south of the Bay Bridge was irregular and we gave up on heading around YBI, and actually had to motor back toward the D-E span, watching this jib only sailboat heading east.

A tug was hanging out south of the D-E span, waiting for an inbound freighter.

We picked up some breeze and were heading north toward the lee side of Angel Island, passing this inbound container ship that was dumping water out of her anchor ports.

A flock of pelicans passed to port as we continued northward-- such primitive beauties.

We blasted across the central bay, watching a tanking heading northward and a sailboat with a sailboat heading southeast.

BLUZZZ passed to port, looking good!

We ran out of wind in the lee of Angel Island, even though we were far east of the Island, so we headed back to the south toward home port where the cruise ship was still tied up at pier 35.
